P.C. I saw the name Jas. C. Morton in the telephone Book [sic] do you think by any means it could be your husband. I would just love to give him a piece of my mind if I dared.
5 West 63rd Street
Dear Mrs. Morton
I received both of your dear letters today and I thank you very much for both I was so pleased to hear from you. But I am sorry to hear you are still feeling so bad. I do wish you were down here in New York it would not be so lonesome for Nondas either. Mama said today she wished you were here too. You see I was able to afford Alberteries [???] as I was working then I only went one week when Mama took so ill that I had to take compleat [sic] charge of the flat and Baby [sic] we took a smaller flat because the other was more than we could afford. And now since the last two weeks since Mama is better I have been working at the Palace with Hubert Sowitz and another girl in a “pas de troi [sic]” Grecian dance in a show called “The World Dancers” but I am learning it this week because Pavlova starts to rehears [sic] on the 10th. She is now in town

New York has had a few days of bad weather too I read from the newspapers that Chicago had a terrible heat wave. I am very sorry that you had to work so hard during such weather. I could accept a very good engagement next week to do two numbers in a review [sic] but it is to be in a cabaret and much as I would like to do I cannot because then Pavlova would accept me any more if I would do so although I would get twiced [sic] as much as from Pavlova but it is not worth it in the end. Alberterie charges me $30 a month and I think would make it cheaper in some cases. If you were only in New York but I soppose [sic] for the present you find yourself better suited up there. Well dear Mrs. Morton I want to write a few lines to Nondas yet so I will end up my letter with very best wishes and
Love from
Mascot
I do hope you are feeling better and do take care of your self and try not to worry so.
